Project Consulting: Description:

Throughout the Project Lifecycle, CIS is able and ready to provide specific guidance and assistance, as well as to outline changes that will ensure your project is delivered on time and within budget. For example, requirements change is one of the the most common project risks that needs immediate resolution if a project is to stay on track. CIS will assist in scope control, project tracking, risk management and data collection to ensure that the project is successful.
Feasibility Studies: Description:

A feasibility study is an evaluation of a proposal designed to determine the difficulty in carrying out a designated task. Generally, a feasibility study precedes technical development and project implementation. A feasibility study is an evaluation or analysis of the potential impact of a proposed project.
CIS is able to provide a detailed feasibility study in regard to the design and implementation of electronic security systems.
Project Charter: Description:

In project management, a project charter or project definition is a statement of the scope, objectives and participants in a project. It serves as a reference of authority for the future of the project.
CIS is able to compile a detailed Project Charter for your specific Electronic Security Project.
CIS will as a minimum address the following issues within the Project Charter:

Project Master Plan: Description:

The master project plan is the collection of the individual project plans. It is not an independent project and could, depending on the type and size of the project, merge different types of project plans into the master project plan.
CIS will, after developing the functional specification for the project, commence with the detailed planning. In conjunction with the client, CIS will prepare different project plans to execute the deliverables in various areas of responsibility and participate in team planning sessions.
Design & Implementation: Description:

This is one of the strong points within CIS’ project management capabilities. Due to the fact that CIS has over 13 years of experience within the private security sector and over 16 years experience within Law Enforcement, we are able to combine the latest technologies with proven design methodologies to ensure a sound, practical and a value for money security solution. Designs are undertaken with input from stakeholders and always include input from equipment manufacturers.
Implementation is undertaken within identified parameters and standards.
Commissioning & Procedures: Description:

Commissioning and Commissioning Procedures is set-up with the client and is based on the type of electronic security system installed. For example, the procedures will be different for an Analogue CCTV System as appose to an IP-Based System. Commissioning of systems will at minimum include equipment quality control checks, communication medium analysis, power inspections and power backup facilities inspection. Commissioning procedures also include the issue of a data book and as-build drawings.

Our Latest Project

The project was awarded during mid 2009 and required the deployment of an IP-backbone, consisting of a G-Pon Fibre Optic Network. A total of 27 CCTV Cameras are deployed throughout the estate, comprising of Analogue and IP-based CCTV Cameras.

An existing Gate House was converted into a control room, complete with a purpose-build Server Room and Security Console.

All of the cameras are recorded to two individual Hybrid Digital Recorders and all of the recorded footage is stored on one 6TB Storage Server.

IP-Based Vicon High Speed Dome Cameras were deployed at the main entrance and exit gate of the estate. These Speed Dome Cameras are Power Over Ethernet (POE) enabled and are fitted with 36 x zoom lenses. The cameras are used to survey incoming and outgoing traffic as well surveying the direct surrounding areas of the main gate.

Static IP-Based Vicon Cameras were deployed around the perimeter of the Estate and are assisted with Infra-red Illuminators (effective up to 100m) to enhance the night viewing capabilities of the cameras. All the cameras are connected to the G-Pon Fibre Optic Network and are streamed back to the main gate for viewing and storage. The cameras are mounted on Spun-Fibre Poles.

A public address system was deployed throughout a 27-story building in the Pretoria CBD during January 2010 to March 2010. The system required the installation of 12 000 meters of fire retardant audio cable and consist of 178 ceiling mounted speakers, 4 horn speakers in the basement areas and two control stations.

An additional 50 purpose-build Visual Display Units (VDU's) were deployed, one in each of the numerous boardrooms in the building. New cable routes were installed, requiring core drilling in several of the installation areas.

A total of 12 000m of audio cable was installed throughout the 27-story building. Special purpose-build cable racks were required as well as core-drilling through the base of the building and through the control room floor. The PA System consists of 98 zones at three zones per floor.

CIS also managed a Security Residential Estate project during 2009. The project consisted of the installation of seventy (70) perimeter & access CCTV cameras on a fibre optic backbone.

Project Management is defined as is the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. Project management is accomplished through the application and integration of the project management processes of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing.

CIS provides expert project management services and Peet vdWalt, who is the owner of the company, is a qualified Project Manager and a member of Project Management South Africa (PMSA).

CIS has extensive experience in Project Management having successfully completed projects ranging from ZAR500 000.00 to ZAR 8 Million.

These projects include IP-Based CCTV Systems, Analogue / Digital CCTV Systems, Biometrics and Proximity Access Control Systems, Electrified Fencing, Physical Access Control Systems i.e. Gates, Booms and Turnstiles and more.
